Environmental Policy

At Pallet Kings, our goal is to recycle 100% of our waste products - these include broken pallet timber, unusable pallets, nails, broken plastic pallets, plastic pallet wrap.

Pallet Re-use

Obviously one of the biggest contributions we make is by taking old pallets that may otherwise have been sent to landfill and repairing and re-using them.  Old pallets make up a large proportion of landfill in local tips and contribute to Global warming through the emission of methane gas.

Timber RecyclingRocky Point Power Generation - Hill of Pallets

Broken and old timber and pallets that can't be repaired or re-used are either bundled for kindling or taken to a local Electricity Generation Plant and are ground to mulch and used as fuel for the generation of green energy.  This facility generates 160,000 megawatt hours supplying Green energy to 18,000 homes.

Plastic Recycling

Used plastic wrap and broken plastic pallets are taken to a plastic recycling plant and this plastic is broken down and turned into plastic pellets (many of which are then used to make more pallets!).

Metal Recycling

The thousands of old nails that are recovered from the repair of pallets are collected and then taken to a metal recycling plant.

Summary

Over 98% of all waste products are recycled in some shape or form.  Less than 2% of the waste collected is sent to land fill.
